Envoy visits Iranian projects in Syria

Iran's Ambassador to Syria Ahmad Mousavi visited a number of the Syrian economic projects being implemented by the Iranian engineers.

Teshrin Power Plant and Kaveh Glass Production Factory are among the projects the largest sections of which have been completed by the Iranian executives.

Ali Reza Modarres, executive director of project, told reporters that due to concerted efforts of the Iranian engineers, the project was completed two months ahead of schedule.

Some 80 percent of the equipment for the project have been manufactured in the country and this is the first time that such a project is implemented abroad, he said.

Mousavi also referred to the statements of the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei on transforming Iran into a scientific workshop and said that the impacts of Iran’s scientific movement are visible in Syria.

Pointing to the resolve of the two countries’ officials to promote bilateral ties, he encouraged Iranian investors to go ahead with carrying out economic development projects in Syria.
