Iran’s Foreign Minister arrives in Malaysia for D8 meeting

Iran’s Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki arrived here Sunday to take part in the 12th ministerial meeting of D8 group.

D8 comprises of eight developing Islamic countries, namely Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Egypt and Nigeria.

Mottaki is to deliver a speech at the meeting and discuss issues of mutual interest with a number of ranking officials on the sidelines of the event.

The meeting which is to open Monday will hear reports on the 26th and 27th meetings of the group’s senior officials and examine the D8 secretariat’s budget for 2010.

Iran’s Foreign Minister will also meet with former Malaysian prime minister Mahathir Mohamad.
