AZERBAIJAN HAS WORLD`S MOST RAPIDLY DEVELOPING ECONOMY, PRESIDENT
Baku, October 31 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan has been the world`s most rapidly developing economy over the last 5 or 6 years, said President Ilham Aliyev.
Speaking to a ceremony to inaugurate an Olympic Sports complex in the country`s Ismayilli region, the Presidents said: “What pleases us is that our economy is not dependent on one sector, it enjoys overall development.”
“We are doing great job in our regions, we are creating state-of-the-art infrastructure, we are supporting development of the private sector, we are boosting entrepreneurship and agriculture.”
“Azerbaijan enjoys growing agriculture, industry and economy.”
The President said: “Global economic crisis had its negative impact on all other countries whose economies declined 10 or even 20 percent. But in Azerbaijan we increased our economy by 6 percent.”
“Some link this to oil factor, saying that it is explained by the fact that Azerbaijan is an oil producing country. But there are other oil producing countries which produce much more oil than Azerbaijan, and we seen that economy in that countries is declining, while Azerbaijan`s is developing,” said the Azerbaijani leader.
“And what helps us? It is a right policy and well-considered economic reforms. We`ve mobilized all our potential, we`ve adopted right decisions and we`ve also been spending huge investments.”
