Federal govt to aid flood-affected NSW

The federal government will offer cash grants to those affected by floods on the NSW
mid-north coast and loans to assist businesses.
The government has announced concessional loans of up to $25,000 for voluntary and
non-profit organisations, while small businesses and primary producers can apply for
loans of up to $130,000.
A natural disaster was declared for various part of the NSW mid-north coast after
heavy rain fell across the Nambucca and Bellingen shires this week.
There has been damage to infrastructure, particularly roads, bridges, causeways,
culverts and water bores.
The commonwealth will also spend money to repair public infrastructure, through the
Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements.
There will also be road and rail freight subsidies of up to $15,000 to assist
primary producers in moving livestock and fodder.
