INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE “KAZAKHSTAN`S OSCE CHAIRMANSHIP: CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES” HELD IN ASTANA

Astana, October 29 (AzerTAc). The international conference entitled “Kazakhstan`s OSCE Chairmanship: Challenges and Opportunities” was held here bringing together Kazakh government officials, parliamentarians, senators, representatives from OSCE and other international organizations.
President of the Eurasia Transit Group Michael Lubash said Kazakhstan`s OSCE Chairmanship will contribute to strengthening its cooperation with the European Union. He noted Kazakhstan has adopted the “Path to Europe” Program and brings its economy in line with European standards.
Senior associate of the U.S. Carnegie Foundation Martha Brill Olcott said during its tenure Kazakhstan can play important role to contribute to settling the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, solving problems in Russia-Georgia relationship, as well as Pridnestrovie and Afghanistan issues. He connected his opinion with “Kazakhstan`s good relationship with Azerbaijan, Armenia, Russia, Georgia and Moldova”.
