STATE COMMITTEE FOR WORK WITH RELIGIOUS ASSOCIATIONS` CHIEF MEETS ADVISOR TO IRANIAN PRESIDENT

Baku, October 28 (AzerTAc). Chairman of Azerbaijan`s State Committee for Work with Religious Associations Hidayat Orujov met Wednesday visiting advisor to the Iranian President, head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) Mehdi Mostafavi.
Orujov said multi-faceted relationship between Azerbaijan and Iran was developing rapidly. He noted President Ilham Aliyev`s trip to Iran and a visit by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Azerbaijan have opened a new stage in the “friendly and neighborly relationship” founded by national leader Heydar Aliyev.
Orujov also underlined the importance of Mostafavi`s trip to Azerbaijan in terms of boosting bilateral cultural cooperation.
Mehdi Mostafavi, in turn, praised the meetings he had here with Azeri officials, adding the discussions mainly focused on organizing cultural and sporting events.
He underscored friendly ties between Azerbaijan and Iran is developing steadily.
The sides also discussed other issues of mutual interest
