WHO PROVIDES AZERBAIJAN WITH VACCINES AGAINST SWINE FLU VIRUS

Baku, 28 October (AzerTAc). A risk group of the population in Azerbaijan will be injected with vaccines against AH1N1 swine flu to be provided by the World Health Organization, said deputy director of Republican Anti-Plague Station Shair Gurbanov.
He said H1N1 influenza vaccines will be first applied to physicians, pregnant women, personnel of border and customs services.
WHO plans to distribute an estimated 300 million doses of vaccine to more than 90 countries, including Azerbaijan.
The first part of influenza vaccines is expected to be brought to Azerbaijan in November, 2009.
Thermal scanners which can detect human body temperature have been installed at airport and border customs check points in Azerbaijan.
