Baku, October 28 (AzerTAc). Visiting chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Turkey`s Grand National Assembly Murat Mercan met Wednesday members of Milli Majlis committee on international relations and interparliamentary ties and Azerbaijan-Turkey working group on interparliamentary relations.
Chairman of the Milli Majlis committee Samad Seyidov said reciprocal visits contribute to strengthening relationship between “our fraternal countries” even more. He noted the Azerbaijani people have always attached special importance to relations with Turkey.
Seyidov also described the Azerbaijani parliamentarians` recent visit to Turkey as “fruitful”.
For his part, Murat Mercan said the visit aims to exchange views with Azeri parliamentarians on expansion of bilateral ties.
Mercan underlined “such meetings play significant role in boosting relations between the two fraternal countries and dealing with existing problems”.
He also cited Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan as saying during his visit to Baku in May this year: “We will take no step to harm the Azerbaijani and Turkish peoples”.
The sides agreed to conduct the next meeting in Nakhchivan.
