AZERBAIJAN DRAW TO REMAIN AT TOP OF EUROPEAN CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP
Baku, October 28 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani men`s chess team have maintained their grip at the top of the European championship in Novi Sad, Serbia, with a sixth round draw against Russia.
The round saw Azerbaijan`s Teymur Rajabov, Vugar Hashimov, Gadir Huseynov and Shahriyar Mammadyarov drew with Peter Svidler, Dmitry Yakovenko, Evgeny Alekseev and Yevgeni Tomashevski respectively.
Meanwhile, the Azeri female players drew 2-2 with Georgia to fall to 3rd place behind Russia and Georgia.
