SAUDI ARABIA REGARDS AZERBAIJAN ‘FRIENDLY AND BROTHERLY COUNTRY’

Baku, 27 October (AzerTAc). “Azerbaijan is a friendly and brotherly country for us,” Saudi Ambassador in Baku, Fahd bin Ali al-Dusari, told chief of Azerbaijan`s State Committee for Work with Religious Associations, Hidayat Orujov.
Al-Dusari said his country places a particular emphasis on its relationship with Azerbaijan.
The ambassador praised “successes Azerbaijan has achieved over the last few years”, adding “this pleases us very much”.
Al-Dusari said: “Azerbaijan is a Muslim country, and, as an ambassador, I`m very pleased to live and work here.”
Orujov praised the Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia relations, stressing the role of the two countries` leaders in “developing and deepening them”.
On religious situation in Azerbaijan, Orujov said the country has “robust tradition of religious tolerance”.
“All necessary conditions have been created in Azerbaijan to ensure that our citizens representing different religions freely carry out their religious duties.”
“Religious monuments are being reconstructed across the country, there is no religious discrimination and the Azerbaijani government has been making every effort to ensure the right to freedom of religion for all its citizens,” added Orujov.
