N1H1-INFECTED PEOPLE NOT ACCEPTABLE IN YEMEN HOSPITALS

SANA'A, Oct. 26 (Saba) - Public and private hospitals in Yemen have refused to receive any Swine Flu-infected cases, the Saba-run al-Syasiah paper reported on Monday.

Al-Thawra Hospital was the only that received N1H1 cases and has provided isolation rooms for them, however, these rooms have not been prepared medically for such kind of disease, some Yemeni doctors said.

The doctors also said that the Ministry of Public Health and Population had not provided safety requirements for the medical staff of the hospital, who treat with the N1H1-infected people.

It is worth to mention that Yemeni government has allocated YR 1.4 billion ($1=YR 205) to encounter the outbreak.

In his last remarks, Public Health and Population Minister Abdul-Karim Rase'a said that the number of N1H1 infected people in the country had risen to 921 cases in addition to 13 death cases. About 843 cases have been cured.

About eight cases have been discovered in a girl high school.

The first confirmed H1N1-infected case was announced in Yemen last June.
