Iran, Brazil to broaden news cooperation
Managing Director of the Islamic Republic News Agency Mohammad Jafar Behdad conferred on Sunday with head of Brazilian news agency Agencia Estado (AE) Ivanir Bortot on expansion of news cooperation.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of International Press Fair in Tehran.
“Iran attaches importance to expansion of media cooperation with Brazil,” Behdad said.
Expansion of media cooperation has not developed in line with the expansion of political and economic cooperation between the two countries and IRNA as the official news agency is ready to ink an agreement on expansion of media cooperation with Brazil, he said.
“This is my first visit to Iran,” said the head of Brazilian news agency.
“During my visit to Iran I have witnessed outstanding development and progress in the field of media and related activities in Iran,” he said.
Brazil regards Iran as a very powerful and big country in Asian continent in terms of economic activities, he said adding that Iran has made a remarkable progress in peaceful application of nuclear energy.
Iran and Brazil could exchange reporters and media persons to help bolster and broaden professional activities in the field, he pointed out.
Iranian reporters who will be dispatched to Brazil can take advantage of potentials of the country’s news agency, he said.
