AZERBAIJANI FM MEETS US DEPUTY ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF STATE FOR EUROPEAN AND EURASIAN AFFAIRS

Baku, October 23 (AzerTAc). Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov has met today with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Tina Kaidanow.
Kidanow said US Administration places high priority to cooperating with Azerbaijan and is keen on developing bilateral relationship.
Kaidanow said the US, as the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair, is interested in the soonest resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, trying to contribute to finding a solution to the problem. Washington backs progress in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and process of normalizing Turkey-Armenia relations.
US official hailed Azerbaijan`s contribution to the counterterrorism operations and its supporting efforts to ensure peace and stability in Afghanistan.
Minister pointed out Azerbaijan and US are cooperating in all fields with Azerbaijan being keen on deepening this cooperation.
Mammadyarov updated US diplomat on Azerbaijan`s official stance on the peace talks on the Nagorno-Karabakh problem and stressed the need to achieve progress in both Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and Armenia-Turkey relations at a time as both processes are intertwined.
Foreign Minister said all roads must be opened to establish to establish peace and stability in the region, adding Armenia must first leave occupied Azerbaijani lands
