MAGOMAYEV REMEMBERED ON FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF DEATH

Baku, October 23 (AzerTAc). Hundreds of people including friends and family members have gathered at the tomb of People`s Artist of Azerbaijan and USSR Muslim Magomayev to mark the first anniversary of his death.
Azerbaijan`s first lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, head of the foundation`s Moscow office Leyla Aliyeva, Magomayev`s widow Tamara Sinyavskaya and daughter Marina Magomayeva were among those who came to the Alley of Honors to pay tribute to the outstanding musician.
Participants of commemorative ceremony, in particular Azeri deputy prime minister Elchin Efendiyev, People`s Artists Arif Melikov and Eldar Guliyev and deputy chairwoman of the Russian State Duma Lyubov Sliska shared their memories of Muslim Magomayev, who was the holder of Azerbaijan`s high state awards, Glory and Independence.
President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, her daughter Leyla Aliyeva and Magomayev`s widow Tamara Sinyavskaya put flowers at tombs of the outstanding singer and his grandfather, well-known composer Muslim Magomayev.
