AZERBAIJAN DIPLOMATIC ACADEMY TO ORGANIZE CONFERENCE TO MARK OIC`s 40TH JUBILEE
Baku, October 21 (AzerTAc). Celebrations to mark the 40th jubilee of the Organization of the Islamic Conference are underway in member states in accordance with the decision adopted during the annual coordination meeting of the OIC foreign ministers held on 26 September 2008 in New-York.
As a next step taken in the framework of cooperation with the OIC, Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry`s Diplomatic Academy has planned to organize together with the OIC General Secretariat on November 11-12 an international scientific conference entitled “Dialogue among civilizations: Azerbaijani perspective” to mark the Organization`s 40th jubilee.
OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu and foreign and local scientists are expected to attend the event.
The conference will discuss religious and cultural diversity, Azerbaijan`s experience in this, challenges that inter-religious dialogue faces, and Islamic geopolitics.
