Isuzu Starts Own Brand Truck Sales in Peru

Tokyo, Oct. 21 (Jiji Press)--Isuzu Motors Ltd. <7202> said
Wednesday that it has started sales of small and midsize trucks under its own name in the Peruvian market.

In the South American country, the Japanese commercial vehicle
maker previously sold trucks exported from Japan under Chevrolet brand of
partner General Motors Co.
Following its marketing research, Isuzu now believes that sales
would be greater under a Japanese brand. The latest move comes in line with
a new model launch, according to the company.
Isuzu, which sold 622 vehicles in Peru in 2008, plans to expand the
annual sales volume to 1,000 units in 2013 as the country's commercial
vehicle market is growing steadily.
