Iran, Malaysia seek better parliamentary relations

The visiting delegation of the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) and the deputy speaker of the Malaysian Parliament called for upgrading relations between the two countries’ legislative bodies.

Head of the Majlis Commission for Legal Affairs Ali Shahrokhi and his MP colleagues met and conferred with the Malaysian official, Datuk Haj Wan Junaidi Tuanko Jaafar, and exchanged views on the two countries’ legislative systems.

The Malaysian official referred to the friendly and brotherly bonds between Iran and Malaysia and expressed willingness for further boosting of legislative cooperation.

Shahrokhi in the meeting briefed his Malaysian host on the Iranian legislation mechanism and its interaction with other branches of power in the country. He also invited the Malaysian official to visit Iran.

The Iranian delegation is to study various aspects of the Malaysian legislature during their stay in this Muslim country.
