Iran parliamentary delegation off to Geneva for IPU meeting

Iran’s parliamentary delegation led by Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani left here for Geneva, Switzerland, Sunday to attend the 121st General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union slated for October 19-21.

The parliamentarians from 120 different countries would discuss major issues, including terrorism, human trafficking and organized crimes as well as other international developments.

Larijani is to addess the IPU meeting on its opening day representing Tehran's stands on various issues including the crisis in Palestine, particularly in the Gaza Strip.

The IPU is an international organization established in 1889. It has 153 members.

Iran is one of the active members of the union.
