Iran, S. Korea discuss issues of mutual interest

Assistant Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) in foreign affairs and international security Ali Baqeri discussed issues of mutual interest with visiting South Korean deputy foreign minister here on Saturday.

In the meeting, Baqeri said that Iran’s initiative in proposing a package is a strategic approach toward progress in constructive cooperation.
He added that Iran’s recent dialogue with 6 countries in Geneva, Switzerland, was a good test for multilateralism in international relations.
Referring to Iran’s regional and international position and South Korean politico-economic capacities, Baqeri said that there is a vast ground for bilateral cooperation and called for strengthening cooperation and continuation of consultations between Tehran and Seoul in different fields.
The Korean senior diplomat, by referring to the friendly ties between the two countries, underlined Seoul's readiness to expand ties in all fields, especially in economic affairs, with Iran.
