INTERNATIONAL CHESS TOURNAMENT STARTS IN ST PETERSBURG

Baku, October 17 (AzerTAc). The Chigorin Memorial international chess tournament takes place in St Petersburg 14-25 October 2009. Representing Azerbaijan Eltac Safarli and Victor Trushelyov won their first games, while Jahangir Agamirov was defeated.
68 international grand masters and 264 chess players are participating at the tournament consisting of 9 rounds.
