Glory want back 'stolen' A-League points

Gold Coast "stole" vital A-League points from Perth when the teams last met in round
six.
Now, Glory skipper Jacob Burns has urged his team to do the pocket-pinching ahead of
Sunday's rematch at Skilled Park.
Last month in Perth, Miron Bleiberg's men came from two goals behind to snatch a
thrilling 2-2 draw, with Shane Smeltz netting the equaliser in stoppage time.
The Glory have since surged to equal second on the table but Burns said that
heartbreaking result still haunted the team.
"We were a little bit upset they kind of stole the points so we'll be looking to do
the same up there," Burns said.
"We'll go for all three.
"We fully deserved the win last time.
"They're a good side, we are sitting on the same points, so if we can get one over
them up there that would be fantastic."
Glory players hit the heat chambers this week in a bid to acclimatise for the
two-game road trip to Queensland, which will see them take on the Fury after this
week's match against Gold Coast.
And after Perth snared two wins from their previous two-game road trip against
Brisbane and Newcastle, Burns said expectations were high.
"We are not going there thinking we are going to lose," he said.
"We want to get six points on the trot again."
Burns returns to the starting XI this week after serving his one-week ban for the
accumulation of five yellow cards.
The 31-year-old will receive a two-week ban should he collect another three cautions
this season but he refused to tone down his hard-nut approach to the game.
"It's tough getting yellow cards and missing games through suspension but I don't
think you can really change your game," he said.
"I play the game fair but hard.
"There's times in games where you're half a second too late and you bear the
consequences.
"But it's the same for every team and it's something every team has to get through."
Perth enter their crucial road trip without key defensive plank Andy Todd but Gold
Coast were dealt a blow of their own when speedy defender Adama Traore was ruled out
for up to eight weeks with a knee injury.
However, United welcome back their two most important players - Jason Culina and
prolific scorer Smeltz - from international duties.
