VN-Index hit an 18-month high on Oct. 12
Hanoi (VNA) – The VN-Index hit an 18-month high on Oct. 12, ending the session on the HCM Stock Exchange at 594.3, a gain on the day of 2.12 percent.
Trading value topped 3.8 trillion VND (217.1 million USD) on a volume of 73.6
million shares, with shares of Sacombank (STB) accounting for 4 million of the
total.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index also advanced by 3.72 percent to close at
196.7 points.
The northern market saw 41.1 million shares change hands for a combined value of 1.7
trillion VND (95.5 million USD). The most active share was Sai Gon-Hanoi Commercial
Bank (SHB), with 3.3 million traded.
Foreign investors continued as net buyers on both exchanges, picking up a combined
900,000 shares. This sector favoured shares by Phu My Fertilisers (DPM),
PetroVietnam Drilling (PVD) and Binh Chanh Construction Investment (BCI) on the Ho
Chi Minh City market, and Kim Long Securities (KLS), PetroVietnam Technical
Services (PVS) and PetroVietnam Insurance (PVI) on the Hanoi market.-Enditem
