COE OFFICIAL PROPOSES GRANTING “CAPITAL OF DIALOGUE” STATUS TO BAKU

BAKU, 13 October (AzerTAc).The Council of Europe Director for Culture and Cultural and Natural Heritage Robert Palmer has proposed giving the “Capital of Dialogue” status to Baku. Speaking to the 6th Islamic Conference of Culture Ministers, Palmer expressed hope the event would contribute to encouraging dialogue among different cultures.
Palmer also condemned Armenia`s destruction of cultural and historic monuments in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
He called on the Council of Europe`s member states to achieve an agreement to strengthen efforts towards restoring destroyed monuments.
