Lib voters prefer Hockey, Abbott: poll

Malcolm Turnbull's horror week is getting worse with a new poll putting rivals Joe
Hockey and Tony Abbott in front as preferred leader of the Liberal Party.
What makes matters worse, is that the collapse in Mr Turnbull's support is chiefly
among Liberal voters who have shifted their stocks over to Mr Hockey for the first
time in a special Morgan telephone poll released on Friday.
Conducted on Wednesday and Thursday night this week, the poll found Mr Turnbull's
support as preferred leader among Liberal voters fell 14 per cent to 21 per cent
since the last poll three months ago.
Mr Hockey's support as preferred leader rose by 14 per cent to 35 per cent, trailed
by Tony Abbott on 22 per cent, an increase of six per cent.
The poll found that among all voters support for Mr Hockey as preferred leader
jumped five per cent to 30 per cent while Mr Turnbull's support was 21 per cent, a
fall of 0.5 per cent.
