Prepare for fire season, Victorians told

The new bushfire season will put Victorians on edge, but everyone must be prepared
to react rationally, Country Fire Authority chief fire officer Russell Rees has
warned.
Mr Rees says more fires are inevitable.
"We will not get away this summer without having fires," he told a press club lunch
in Melbourne on Thursday.
"The first fires, everybody will be very much on edge.
"We need to deliver a rational response to these circumstances."
Mr Rees reiterated that he never considered walking away from his role after Black
Saturday on February 7 when 173 people died in Victorian bushfires.
