Baku, October 6 (AzerTAc). OSCE Minsk Group`s co-chairs Yury Merzlyakov (Russia), Bernard Fassier (France) and Robert Bradtke (the United States) have held a press conference at Azerbaijan`s Foreign Ministry.
Merzlyakov said Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev had agreed to meet his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan on October 8 in Chisinau on the eve of a summit of CIS Heads of State.
According to Merzlyakov, the Chisinau meeting will be a follow-up to the two presidents` last talks in Moscow on July 18 to discuss settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
He cited President Ilham Aliyev who said “recently there has been a positive dynamics in the negotiation process and we hope that this dynamics will continue in the Chisinau meeting”.
Bradtke expressed hope for “big progress” in the Moldavian capital, adding no document was expected to be signed in the meeting.
“We want the sides to continue the discussion of principles which were considered at the Moscow meeting,” Merzlyakov said.
“I mean the basic principles presented to Azerbaijan and Armenia during a summit of the OSCE held in autumn 2007 in Madrid.”
