AZERI FM MEETS U.S. DEPUTY SECRETARY OF ENERGY
Baku, October 5 (AzerTAc). Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov has met today U.S. Deputy Secretary of Energy Daniel Poneman.
Poneman said Azerbaijan and the United States had a broad relationship. He particularly praised the two countries` successful cooperation in energy sphere.
Poneman pointed out ensuring energy security was one of the foreign policy priorities of the United States which supports diversification of energy transport routes to global markets.
For his part, Elmar Mammadyarov praised the energy cooperation between the two countries.
He noted Azerbaijan exports its energy recourses to world markets, and the country also has transit capacities.
Touching upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, Mammadyarov underlined to establish durable peace in the region the dispute must be settled on the basis of Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.
