Expansion of Iran-Kazakhstan commercial ties underlined
An Iranian official called for expansion of commercial ties between his country and Kazakhstan.
In a meeting with a Kazakh commercial and investment delegation, caretaker of Iran’s Trade Development Organization Babak Afqahi said that Iran enjoys high capabilities in the fields of dam and road construction and development and is ready to embrace investment in the areas of mine industry, steel and cement.
According to him, implementation of Article 44 of the Constitution has paved the way for accepting domestic and foreign investments.
“Iran has suffered the least damage from the global economic crisis and this indicates the high level of security for investment in Iran,” Afqahi contended.
He also expressed his organization’s willingness to hold exhibition featuring Iran’s capabilities in the fields of energy, construction materials, engineering and technical services in Kazakhstan.
Mukashev Baltabek Kumarovich, a member of the Kazakh delegation, said that his country considers Iran as one its political and economic partners.
The Kazakh private sector seeks to undertake joint ventures with the Iranian investors, he said, noting that the two countries have the potentials to raise their annual commercial exchanges to $10 billion in a near future.
Currently, the two countries’ commercial exchanges including oil and gas stand at $2.9 billion.
Pistachio, potato, plastic products, luster, home appliances and apple are Iran's main exports to Kazakhstan while wheat, iron ingot, barley, steel wastes and phosphate sodium are among its imports from Kazakhstan.
