Largest annihilation of drugs in world history to occur in Iran

Commander of Anti-Drug Police Force said the largest annihilation operation of drugs in the world history will happen by setting fire on 600 tons of drugs in Iran.

Brigadier General Hamid Reza Hosseinabadi told reporters on Tuesday that the drugs will be annihilated on the occasion of 'Police Week'.
He added that in the first half of current Iranain year police discovered 300 tons of drugs and now there are more than 1,000 tons of them in police depots a large amount of which will be annihilated in the Week.
Referring to the UN report, 6,900 tons of drugs will be produced in Afghanistan this year.
The police commander said in the first six months of the year, 112 drug smugglers were killed in fight with Iranian border guards and 9 Iranian officers were martyred and 33 were wounded.
He criticized international bodies responsible for anti-drug campaign and said the total amount of budget that the UN has allocated to Iran during the past four years was four million dollars, while two million dollars have been spent for their own office here.
The general said that in the same period of time, Iran has paid 800 million dollars to close its borders as well as other steps concerning campaign against drug.
