Bahraini official praises Iran’s active diplomacy

The Islamic Republic of Iran has taken positive steps for expanding ties with members of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC), a senior Bahraini official said.

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Bahrain Nazar Al-Baharna made the remarks in a meeting with the Iranian ambassador to Bahrain in Manama on Wednesday.

Al-Baharna cited Iran's diplomacy as active in regional and international affairs, calling for expansion of ties with PGCC member states.

Referring to the two countries' commonalities, the Bahraini official expressed hope that bilateral ties could be increased in all arenas.

During the visit, ways for expansion of mutual ties were also addressed.

Hossein Amir Abdollahian, for his part, elaborated on the latest regional and international developments.

The PGCC consists of Bahrain, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Saudi Arabia.
