Iranian powerlifters rank 1st in Uzbekistan championship

Iranian athletes ranked first in Asian Junior Powerlifting Championship in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Mohammad Zarei snatched one gold and two bronze medals in 85-kg category during the event.

Meanwhile, Hamid Malaki bagged a bronze medal in 77-kg category while Saeed Mohammadi got two bronze medals in the 94-kg category.

Mahdi Agah won three gold medals in 105-kg category.

Mohammad Hossein Seifi snatched three gold medals in +105 kg-category, while Bahador Molaei bagged one silver and one bronze medals in the same category.

Several powerlifters from Iran, Jordan, Nepal, Indonesia, South Korea, Thailand, China, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Iraq, Qatar, Syria, Bangladesh and Uzbekistan are competing in the championship which began September 27.

The adult age group powerlifting championship will open in Tashkent today (September 29).

The international event will be wrapped up October 1.
