ENOC`S ANNUAL CONFERENCE CONVENED IN PARIS

Baku, 29 September (AzerTAc). The 13th Annual Conference of European Network of Ombudspersons for Children (ENOC) took place in Paris. Established in 1997, ENOC links independent offices for children from twenty four countries in Europe. Its aims are to encourage the fullest possible implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the child, support collective lobbying for children’s rights, share information, approaches and strategies and promote the development of effective independent offices for children.

Azerbaijan was represented by Ombudswoman of Azerbaijan Elmira Suleymanova.

Conferees were greeted with a video welcome from Thomas Hammarberg, Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights.

Emily Logan, President of the European Network of Ombudspersons for Children, and Dominique Versini, Ombudsperson for Children of France, highlighted the participants on Network`s achievements and existing problems.

Ombudswoman of Azerbaijan Elmira Suleymanova informed the conferees on the work carried out in the field of protection of children rights in the country.

The Conference heard numerous reports and held discussions.

The conferees also held a meeting of the ENOC General Assembly to discuss the strategy of the Network and future activities.
