Health Ministry: No death case of Swine Flu during Ramadan

Riyadh, September 28, SPA -- The Ministry of Health has reiterated
that no death case of Swine Flu was reported following the end of the
Umrah season in the blessed month of Ramadan and the end of the
incubation period of the disease.

In a statement released here today, the Health Ministry said
said "With the grace of Allah Almighty and the generous support being
extended to the health services, the Health Ministry has successfully
confronted the virus of H1N1 of the disease during Umrah season this
year."

The statement pointed out that the efforts of the Health Ministry
are going ahead to accurately follow up the disease among the Umrah
performers and visitors from all regions of the Kingdom through
surveillance and laboratory diagnosis as well as other measures.

The statement noted that nine cases were reported in Makkah during
the blessed month of Ramadan, 15 cases in Madinah and two cases in
Assir region and the northern borders region.
"These numbers are very little compared to millions who performed
Umrah and the visitors who visited the Holy Places," said the
statement.

The statement said the Health Ministry has followed up with the
health authorities in the Arab and Muslim countries, and it was
assured that no death cases were reported. "Moreover, the cases of
infection with the disease are very little and limited after their
return from Umrah."

This provides a clear evidence for the success of the preventive
measures taken to confront the disease, the statement added.
