Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung inaugurates Vinh Tuy concrete bridge

Hanoi (VNA)- Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on September 25 inaugurated the Vinh
Tuy concrete bridge over the Red River, making it the seventh of its kind leading
into Hanoi .

The Government leader described the project as a milestone in the national bridge
building industry’s development history.

“The Government will do its best to introduce more and more practical projects
to maintain the capital city’s sustainable development and prosperity,’ Dung
vowed.

The 10 km-long bridge will help to ease traffic flows between urban areas as well
as between the northern industrial zones and the metropolis south of the Red
River, which will contribute to the city’s economic development, social welfare
and national defence.

With an investment of 3.5 trillion VND, the Hanoi People’s Committee expects
the project to help reduce traffic jams on the other two major bridges of Long
Bien and Chuong Duong that lead to central Hanoi .

The capital city is also investing in another bridge, the Nhat Tan, on the second
ring road around Hanoi , cutting the travel time from central Hanoi to Noi
Bai international airport.--Enditem
