Hanoi (VNA) – The VN-Index on Sept. 24 dropped 7.33 points to close at 574.78, a
fall of 1.26 percent, as most stocks lost value on the HCM Stock Exchange.
The day witnessed 112 losers, including most major stocks, and 49 gainers. Trading
value fell by 18 percent from Sept. 23’s figure, but maintained high at 67.4
million shares, on a turnover of 3.8 trillion VND (213.5 million USD).
Most-active Sacombank (STB) generated orders for 4.4 million shares, and its
runner-up, VietFund Management (VFMVF1), traded 4 million fund certificates.
Shares of Mekong Seafood Co (AAM) and Vietnam Mechanisation Electrification and
Construction Co (MCG) were bright spots for the day, as both hit the ceiling of
the 20-percent regulated trading band during their debuts on Sept. 24 on the
southern bourse.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index slid a slight 0.17 percent to close at
180.77 points, ad decliners outnumbered advancers 157 to 45. The value of the
day’s trading reached 1.6 trillion VND (89.9 million USD), as trading volume
declined 30 percent over the previous session to 37.8 million shares.-Enditem
