AZERBAIJAN, LITHUANIA DISCUSS PROSPECTS FOR PARLIAMENTARY COOPERATION
Baku, September 25 (AzerTAc). Chairman of Azerbaijan Parliament`s Standing Commission on International Relations and Inter-Parliamentary Ties, Samad Seyidov, has met Deputy Speaker of Lithuanian Parliament Ceslovas Stankevicius to discuss opportunities for boosting cooperation between the two countries` parliaments.
Seyidov praised the relations between the two countries, and stressed the importance of reciprocal visits.
He spoke of Azerbaijan`s European integration moves, praising Lituania`s “critical support” in this regard.
He also noted Azerbaijan plays “important role in ensuring European energy security”.
Stankevicius stressed the significance of developing the bilateral relations in various fields, in particular culture, education and economics.
They also exchanged views on settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, situation in the Southern Caucasus, interparliamentary relations and joint cooperation with international organizations.
