TURKEY SAYS CONCERNED OVER VIOLENCE IN YEMEN
ANKARA (A.A) - 23.09.2009 - Turkey expressed concern on Wednesday over violence in Yemen, which it said threatened the country's security and stability.
"We have been following the actions of violence that have been taking place in brotherly Yemen with concern. Yemen's security and stability is important for its entire region," said a written statement issued by the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
"It is our sincere hope that the problems Yemen faces could be resolved immediately through peaceful means based on Yemen's national unity and territorial integrity. Turkey stands in solidarity with the people of Yemen with whom it shares a common history," the statement said.
