Tiatto ready to return for Roar

In a welcome boost for the depleted Brisbane Roar, former Socceroo Danny Tiatto has
declared himself fit for Sunday's A-League clash with Sydney FC at Suncorp Stadium.
Tiatto, 36, missed last weekend's shock 4-2 home loss to Perth Glory with a groin
complaint but has put his hand up for what he has described as a crucial clash.
The Roar need reinforcements after being forced to trial players from Queensland's
State League following the loss of Tiatto, Michael Zullo, Matt McKay and Massimo
Murdocca to injury and Luke Devere, Mitch Nichols and Tommy Oar (national under 20s
duty).
There is still a question mark over experienced defender Andrew Packer (adductor).
Brisbane had appeared to be coping well until their five game unbeaten run was ended
by the disastrous loss to the Glory last Sunday.
Tiatto's availability is a shot in the arm for the Roar ahead of their clash with a
Sydney FC outfit that shares top spot with Gold Coast United following a last round
win over Newcastle.
"I think all the boys, after the performance last week, are ready to stand up and be
counted," Tiatto said.
"Over the years we've had some pretty tight games against Sydney and I don't think
this will be any different.
"(The Perth game) was a game we had to try a few things and it didn't quite work out
for us - we just have to scratch that now and look forward to this week."
Tiatto has had to battle with injury throughout the season after a chronic back
problem was found to be responsible for several niggling complaints.
But Tiatto said he could manage his condition to get the most out of what is
expected to be his final season of professional football.
"Over the years I've pushed myself pretty hard at training and been right for the
weekend," he said.
"These days I have to manage things a bit better. I'm not 20 years old anymore,
although I think I am sometimes.
"I'm sorting myself out and I'll be okay for the weekend."
