Fears grow for missing Bendigo woman
Police fear a 25-year-old woman from central Victoria who has been missing for
almost a week may have met with foul play.
Emma Hetherington, from Bendigo, was last seen at Sunshine Railway Station in
Melbourne's outer north on Monday evening.
Senior Sergeant Stuart Bateson said police held grave concerns for her welfare and
were trying to locate her car, a green 1991 Honda Concerto sedan, registration ENB
574.
"We are concerned she may have met with foul play, and we are trying to locate that
vehicle," Sen Sgt Bateson told AAP.
"We're concerned that she hasn't contacted any members of her family in the last
week," he said.
"We would like to hear from anyone who has had contact with her in the last week."
Sen Sgt Bateson said a male friend of Ms Hetherington's had reported her missing.
Ms Hetherington regularly travelled to Melbourne from Bendigo to visit friends, he
said.
She is described as 160cm tall, of solid build, with brown hair, blue eyes and a
fair complexion.
Ms Hetherington was wearing a black jacket, red T-shirt, grey tracksuit pants and
black knee-high boots.
