PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV LAYS FOUNDATION STONE FOR SHAHDAG WINTER AND SUMMER TOURISM COMPLEX
Gusar, 18 September (AzerTAc). During his visit to Gusar region, President Ilham Aliyev laid foundation stone for Shahdag winter and summer tourism complex.
The Azerbaijani leader placed a time capsule into the foundation and filled it with liquid concrete, marking the formal start of the construction.
The Head of State was informed that the complex is situated 30 km north of Gusar city centre.
Shahdag winter and summer tourism complex will create opportunities for local and foreign tourists to indulge in winter sports, including mountain ski. The complex will have also football and basketball playgrounds, indoor sports and exercise facility, aqua park and swimming polls.
The complex which covers two thousand hectares will also include a 312-bed 5 star, a 346-bed 4 star and 282-bed 3 star hotels and cottages. More than 5 thousand people will work in this centre to be constructed at a height of 2000 meters above the sea level.
The complex will include shopping centers, underground and above-ground parking garages.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism supervises the construction works, which are expected to end in 2011.
