AZERI VICE-SPEAKER MEETS BELGIAN SENATE`S HONORARY PRESIDENT
Baku, September 18 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani vice-speaker Bahar Muradova today has met the Belgian Senate`s honorary president Anne-Marie Lizin.
Muradova said Azerbaijan has “effective” bilateral relations with European countries, including Belgium. She pointed out “as a democratic country Azerbaijan is successfully integrating into Euroatlantic community”.
The vice-speaker also praised the interparliamentary ties between Azerbaijan and Belgium. Muradova hailed contribution of friendship groups of both parliaments.
Speaking on the role of Azeri women in socio-political processes, Muradova said they are “actively represented in different governmental bodies and parliament”.
She said Azerbaijan is taking necessary measures to fight human trafficking. According to her, a draft law “on Fighting Domestic Crime” will be soon submitted to the parliament for discussion.
Senator Lizen praised interparliamentary relations between Azerbaijan and Belgium, saying it creates broad opportunities for Azerbaijan to have an access to European Union.
Lizen hailed measures undertaken by Azerbaijani government to fight trafficking in women.
