EUROPEAN COUNTRIES HAVE GREAT INTEREST IN SHAHDENIZ PROJECT, SOCAR PRESIDENT
Baku, September 17 (AzerTAc). Some of the European countries including Greece, Italy, Russia, Ukraine and Baltic states have great interest in the Shahdeniz project, said SOCAR president Rovhag Abdullayev.
According to him, a pipeline to transport gas from the Shahdeniz field has already been put into operation. “This is an evidence of the importance of Azerbaijan`s role in ensuring Europe`s energy security”, he added.
Abdullayev stressed opportunities were expanding for transportation of the Caspian gas into Europe in the framework of the “Southern energy corridor” concept.
