EITI COMMISSION`S MEETING HELD IN BAKU
Baku, 17 September (AzerTAc). A meeting of the Commission on implementation of Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) in Azerbaijan took place on 16 September. The meeting was presided by Shahmar Movsumov, Chairman of the Commission and State Oil Fund`s Executive Director. The Chairman updated the members of the Commission on the latest developments of EITI implementation in Azerbaijan.
Discussed was the document on Formalization of Multi-Stakeholder Group for EITI Implementation in Azerbaijan at the meeting and noted the possibility of signing this document.
Mr. Movsumov stated that EITI International Board meeting will be held on 14-15 October current year in Baku. He invited the members of the EITI Commission to actively participate at the round table which will be held during the Board meeting.
Participants of the meeting also agreed to attract new extractive companies functioning in the country to the EITI implementation process in Azerbaijan.
