MEETING OF EU GENERAL AFFAIRS AND EXTERNAL RELATIONS COUNCIL WRAPS UP IN VIENNA

Baku, September 16(AzerTAc). The meeting of the European Union General Affairs and External Relations Council ended Tuesday in Brussels. During the two-day event, foreign ministers of EU member states discussed a number of issues including Europe`s energy security and prospects for development of relations with South Caucasus states.
Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt who chaired the meeting said EU unanimously supports development of relationship with South Caucasus countries.
The event participants agreed to sign a document on free trade in the framework of the Eastern Partnership program. It was also decided the European Commission must draw up a draft directive on starting relevant talks with Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia.
