AZERBAIJANI DELEGATION ATTENDS 14TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND GENERAL MEETING OF INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PROSECUTORS IN KIEV
Baku, 14 September (AzerTAc). Visiting Ukraine, Azerbaijani delegation headed by the Minister of Justice Fikrat Mammadov, took part in the 14th Annual Conference and General Meeting of the International Association of Prosecutors in Kiev, on 5-11 September.
The event brought together about 350 representatives from 80 countries.
The theme of the conference was "Successful Prosecutions; Achieving Just Outcomes". Participants exchanged views on ways of achieving a successful prosecutorial outcome, apart from the traditional pursuit of a conviction. They discussed alternatives to prosecution such as civil remedies, regulation, confiscation, etc. The conference also examined these alternative outcomes and the need to preserve fairness and justice for all.
During stay in Kiev, Azerbaijani delegation also visited monuments of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev and prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.
They also visited Ukraine`s 28-storey Appeal Court residence and met there judges and prosecutors to exchange views and experience.
Azerbaijani ambassador to Ukraine Talat Aliyev accompanied the delegation.
