EU ENERGY COMMISSIONER TO VISIT AZERBAIJAN
Baku, 14 September AzerTAc). European Union Energy Commissioner Andris Piebalgs on 14 September will visit Azerbaijan, EU Baku Representation said.
As stated, the EU official will attend the “Gas Infrastructure World Caspian - 2009” International Conference to be hosted in capital of Azerbaijan on 15-16 September.
Being held in Azerbaijan for the first time, the Conference will focus on the questions of development of the Caspian gas infrastructure potential, global gas market reforms and its impact on the Caspian region, inter-state gas export cooperation issues. The conferees have to define also major factors influencing on future gas export routes, financing large regional gas projects, as well as discuss development of the common gas import and export infrastructure.
In the framework of Conference, Mr. Andris Piebalgs is also expected to meet with Azerbaijani officials and the Caspian Business Integration Club (CBIC) members.
