Beijing University to honor Iranian artist

Beijing University will honor a China-based Iranian artist Ghaffar Pourazar for his efforts to promote Chinese opera in a ceremony on November 14.

According to a report by Theatrical Arts Center, Pourazar, a graduate of Beijing Opera School and International Academy, has so far won many prizes such as research award from British Association.

Pourazar will be awarded during the ceremony along with 11 other non-Chinese artists.

Pourazar is the first non-Chinese who has completed his studies on Chinese opera in Beijing academies.

Beijing opera is one of the most perfect performing methods greatly favored by the Chinese.
