Iran’s commercial center to open in Russia

Iran’s commercial center is expected to be launched in Russia by March 2009, said head of Iran-Russia Joint Chamber, Assadollah Asgar- Owladi.

He further noted that the decision was made when Yahya Al-e Eshaq was commerce minister but due to financial and managerial issues, its implementation was delayed.

Referring to the need for serious efforts to set up Iran’s commercial center in Russia, he noted that Iran’s Trade Development Organization has pledged to help in establishing the center.

As to the problems facing the project, he cited high prices of land and building in Russia as construction of a building for the purpose will cost 10 billion rials.

Russia is scheduled to set up a commercial center in Bandar Anzal, he noted.

Asgar Owladi also announced that a summit of Caspian Sea littoral states’ joint chambers will be held in Rasht, Gilan province, from September 29 to October 2.

Some 15 Iranian chambers of commerce including those of North, Razavi and South Khorasan provinces, Gorgan, Mazandaran, Gilan, Hamedan, Ardebil, Qazvin and West Azarbaijan will also attend the event.

He also declared an imminent visit by a Russian delegation to Tehran.
