CABINET HOLDS EXCEPTIONAL MEETING

SANA'A, Sep. 12 (Saba) - The Cabinet held an exceptional meeting on Saturday discussing a President Saleh message on identifying the government priorities for the next period, first and foremost finding solutions to combat unemployment, expanding anti-poverty efforts and ensuring competent government administration.

The message also urged the government to focus on replacing gas power plants to decrease reliance on generating electricity by oil derivatives, using achieved savings to alleviate subsidies on this sector in an attempt to improve the people's living standards.

In his message, Saleh also urged to eliminate obstacles facing the flow of investments into the country, including easing investment measures at various sectors as well as establishing a most effective mechanism to continue comprehensive reform agenda.

A ministerial executive council was formed to follow up implementation of programs under priorities.
