Sydney high school student contracts TB

A student at a high school in Sydney's southwest has tested positive to the
potentially deadly lung disease tuberculosis (TB).
A joint statement from The NSW Education Department and Sydney South West Area
Health Service said a student had a confirmed case of TB.
As a precaution, staff and pupils who may have been in close contact with the
student were being screened and health authorities were providing advice to the
school, the statement said.
"All parents of students who may have come in contact with the affected student have
been informed in writing," it said.
A spokeswoman for the health service said she could not name the high school.
